PMA: Recalling Facts – How can we help children become fluent and powerful?

Australian Curriculum requires children to explore and develop strategies to become fluent with the recall of facts from Reception to Year Four. Fluency with facts and powerfully knowing how you can partition a number are key understandings that contribute to the development of number sense. So what does the research say will work? What are the practical ways that we can powerfully engage learners in this aspect of mathematics? If these are learning and teaching challenges you are wanting to resolve – then come and associate with your colleagues and explore these ideas further!
